This service is run by Wesport based Blackshell Marine Cargo out of a base at Cleggan, Galway. Our aim is to provide a regular and competitive cargo service to Inishbofin Island, catering for a wide variety of users, including personal, farming and business use. This service has been subsidised by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht affairs. Our contract for this service is for 5 years and has been running since the 1st June 2008.

The main vessel for the service is the landing craft Triona. The back up vessel is the coaster the Inisbofin Princess.

Roll on-roll off service is available, weather permitting, during winter months by arrangement. During summer months a weekly roll on-roll off service is provided.
